Human Capital Business Partner
Overview
We’re looking for an enthusiastic HC Business Partner (HCBP) to join a team that’s driving significant change and looking to make a meaningful impact. A self-starter with an appetite to build from the ground up, this role is suited for an individual who is energised by change and wants to go beyond box-ticking.
Reporting directly to the Head of Human Capital, the HCBP supports and leads the implementation of the HC strategy across the employee lifecycle, working closely with people managers to lead and implement effective HC initiatives that deliver engaging employee experiences and drive high performance.
Key Responsibilities
General Human Capital Business Partnering
- Provide input into the Business Unit (“BU”) People Plan, ensuring alignment with the overall Department People Plan.
- Develop and implement tactical and operational people plans to address specific business and people challenges.
- Partner with management teams to advise on people challenges and strategies that enhance team performance.
- Advise on future people priorities, informed by Human Capital analytics and trends.
- Efficiently implement the Human Capital (“HC”) calendar.
- Develop and execute tactical organisational development and effectiveness initiatives to meet short-term business needs.
- Advise senior management on employee engagement and the cultivation of a high-performance culture, aligned with the BU plan.
- Implement the BU Talent and Leadership Plan for the designated area.
- Advise senior management on change management, promoting efficient responses to organisational changes.
- Customise and implement specific practices within the BU.
- Ensure adherence to HC controls and introduce new controls as required.
- Support transformation plans set by M&G SA.
- Contribute to Human Capital synergies across M&G SA.
Human Capital Data and Operations
- Ensure adherence to Group operational risk and control standards and framework.
- Overseeing controls in all HC Operational processes and update operational manuals to meet internal and external audit requirements and Corporate Governance.
- Proactively improve operational aspects of the employee life-cycle including onboarding, employee-related queries as it relates to reward & benefits, use of benefits’, vendor platform usage by employees, staff movements and off-boarding processes
- Supporting continuous improvement by highlighting, streamlining and implementing process efficiencies within the Human Capital team
- Performing quality check on monthly salary inputs and benefits partners submissions
- Supporting the end-to-end delivery of new projects which impact HC systems and processes including service improvement initiatives, ensuring that projects produce the required deliverables to the agreed quality, time and cost constraints
- Supporting the end-to-end delivery of HC Information system releases/ upgrades, including engagement with key stakeholders to ensure new system capabilities are understood, documented, tested and embedded in business-as-usual activities
- Support the integration of Human Capital system development requirements and testing plans to ensure new system capabilities are well integrated
- Participating and leading where necessary on key project activity in HC Operations
Attributes, Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Degree or Diploma in a related field
- 3 to 5 years’ human resources experience, with demonstrated experience working with a HR Information System (HRIS)
- Strong HC Operations/Reward & Benefits background with relevant experience in the financial services industry (asset management experience ideal from rewards processing perspective)
- Ability to solve problems and develop improvement opportunities
- Experience of project management or working with project management practices
- Working knowledge of financial services regulatory and legislative frameworks
- Proficient in all Microsoft tools, including Excel, working with large volumes of data and associated analytics
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to clearly articulate policies and processes to stakeholders and employees
- Proficient with Basic Conditions of Employment Act and related LRA regulations
- High levels of drive and resilience in order to deal with a demanding and results-oriented stakeholder group; able to work effectively under pressure and when faced with competing priorities
