Business Analyst: Operations
Overview
A vacancy has a risen for a Business Analyst: Operations in the M&G Institutional Operations team. The ideal candidate is someone who has a deep understanding of operational functions, systems (CRIMS and Invest One RTK report writing) and a very strong knowledge of excel coding and report writing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving and delivery of operational efficiencies within the operations teams to increase efficiency and productivity. Provide support for successful query resolution by coordinating and collaborating with all related parties. Utilise techniques such as data analysis and process mapping to identify areas for improvement and develop and implement solutions that streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve quality and productivity.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as knowledge of efficiency and productivity improvement techniques are essential for success in this role. Ensure deliverables adhere to control assurance structures and risks are mitigated. The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Operation Managers in developing, planning, and coordinating operational functions.
- Support business system upgrades, business process changes, and efficiency initiatives.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for technical queries related to UDA (User Defined Applications) technical queries.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Contribute to the coordination and review of operational activities to ensure adherence to risk and control standards.
- Collect, analyse, and report on operational data to identify trends.
- Collaborate with teams across Operations to optimise processes and improve efficiency.
- Develop and implement process improvement strategies across operational teams.
- Conduct detailed analyses of current business operations.
- Act as a liaison between the business operations team and the IT services team.
Attributes, Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- An appropriate tertiary qualification is required.
- 5+ years’ experience in Asset Management.
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI and UDA (User Defined Applications).
- Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced).
- A good overall understanding of the investment industry and financial instruments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to design a strategy/plan and execute accordingly.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with clients, internal business units and service providers.
- Data analysis and reporting skills.
